Malaysian PC FAIR(PIKOM PC Fair)

PIKOM PC FAIR
PIKOM PC Fair, Malaysia’s prominent ICT cash and carry event in Malaysia recorded another successful year with a total sale that exceeded RM100 million in 2004, a 20 per cent increase from the previous year.
According to Low Wai Sun, PIKOM PC Fair Chairman, there were over 88 registered exhibitors that translated to at least 150 exhibitors in six PC Fair locations.
“In 2005, PIKOM plans to organise the PC Fair at the all new Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in August and December and has added Kuala Trengganu as the latest PC Fair venue,” he said.
Low elaborated that PIKOM has identified three new directions for PIKOM PC Fairs. These new roles clearly confirm PIKOM PC Fair's growing prominence, recognition and stature:
Firstly, to help narrow the digital divide in Malaysia by offering an exciting, safe, credible and focused platform where consumers, businesses and exhibitors can share and transact. This promotes the IT industry and facilitates the increase of computer usage and literacy at all level of the Malaysian society. PIKOM PC Fair is held three times a year throughout the larger cities in Malaysia namely Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Kuantan, Ipoh, Kota Bahru and Melaka.
Our second goal is to actively work with PIKOM PC Fair exhibitors and participants to continuously develop and improve the cash-and-carry event into the ranks of prominence in the region. PIKOM PC Fair also enjoys brisk sales from a variety of foreign visitors from Singapore, Taiwan, China, Jordan. These are visitors who either work or study here. In Johor Bahru, PIKOM PC Fair has visitors from Singapore, which is merely a drive from across the Causeway.
Our third goal is to measure PIKOM PC Fair as it grows in both stature and prominence as a quality cash-and-carry event and reinforce its three key advantages; value-driven, convenience and consumer-focused.
PIKOM PC Fair is well known as a value-driven and cost effective platform for PIKOM members who are PC retailers, dealers and distributors to access their target market. Many exhibitors participate in multiple locations and products most represented are PC and peripherals. Shoppers are therefore able to source for their desired ICT goods under one roof for a good bargain.
“We received encouraging feedback from exhibitors of the PIKOM PC Fair on their satisfaction with PIKOM, the organiser of the fair for another successful year,” Low informed.
We have worked very hard throughout the year to provide better convenience to visitors and exhibitors. We will also continue to hold PIKOM PC Fairs in smaller towns including Ipoh and Melaka.
“PIKOM PC Fair is sensitive to trends and consumer expectations in its role as the industry bellwether, hence we pledge to work even harder this year to ensure PIKOM PC Fair is in the forefront of the ICT cash and carry event.“
